LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is a hydrocarbon gas that liquefies under moderate pressure. It is a colorless, low-carbon, and highly efficient fuel. Available primarily as propane (C3H8) and butane (C₄H₁₀), LPG serves various purposes, including fuel for cooking in homes, hotels, restaurants, and catering services, as well as industrial power. Existing naturally in vapor form, LPG can be easily liquefied, facilitating convenient storage, transport, and handling, thus ensuring hassle-free operations for users. Moreover, LPG is relatively safe compared to other fuels, with a high ignition temperature of about 450-510°C, significantly higher than gasoline's 177-329°C, reducing the likelihood of accidental ignition.
Product & Package Range
Range Of Products: 5Kg, 19Kg, 35kg, 47.5Kg, 422Kg
Starting from a portable 5kg cylinder, hugely popular 19 kg package, space saving 35 kg cylinders to the large 47.5 kg capacity cylinders to the Jumbo 422 Kg Hippo Cylinder, Bharatgas comes in various packages.
These cylinders are primarily used in the Industrial and Commercial sectors. Annamalai BharatGas holds an advantage in terms of weight and pricing, as government subsidies do not apply to these sectors. We offer LPG that is cleaner and more economical. This positions us as a leader in the Commercial and Industrial sectors, with our cylinders being utilized across various industries.
BULK Tankers
Bulk tankers, ranging in capacity from 6 MT to 18 MT, offer customers the flexibility to select a package that meets their specific needs. The advanced blending plant at Kochi Refinery allows Bharatgas to supply butane and propane individually, thereby improving the performance of the end product for customers who require them.
LPG Installation
VOT Installations
The Vapour Off-Take (VOT) system is the standard cylinder setup for industries with low fuel needs. It is the predominant installation type, typically employed in single LPG cylinders, with a maximum LPG off-take of under 6kg per hour. Due to its design and operational principles, this installation is recommended solely for consumers with relatively low LPG consumption. In this type of installation mostly 19Kgs and 35Kgs are used as stand-alone and in manifolds.
LOT Installation
Liquid Off-Take (LOT) LPG installations represent an advanced concept in multi-cylinder installations, offering the strength of bulk LPG systems while maintaining easy functionality. These systems are particularly beneficial for commercial and industrial applications where high flow rates are necessary.
The LPG LOT System is designed to cater to volumes of above 7kgs to 250Kgs per hour. It effectively overcomes several challenges associated with bulk LPG installations and conventional manifold (VOT) systems.
Unlike traditional vapor off-take (VOT) cylinders, LOT systems withdraw liquid LPG from the cylinders. This liquid LPG is then converted into vapor using a vaporizer.
These systems combine the efficiency of bulk installations with the user-friendly functionality of cylinder manifold systems. Key components of LOT systems include connecting hoses, non-return valves (NRVs), valves, piping systems, LPG vaporizers (with safety fittings), pressure regulating stations, filters, and gauges. Indigenously manufactured vaporizers are available, including electrically heated water bath designs and world-class dry-type vaporizers.
These vaporizers can operate on single-phase power without requiring water inlet or outlet connections. Additional features such as metering systems, gas leak detection systems, remote-operated control valves, and other instruments enhance the overall functionality of LOT systems. LOT systems are known for their compact design, making them space-efficient. These systems ensure safe usage by drawing liquid LPG directly from the cylinder, minimizing residual losses. By avoiding residual losses, LOT systems offer cost savings. The ability to handle high flow rates makes LOT systems suitable for industrial users with substantial fuel requirements. In this type of installation mostly 47.5Kgs and 422Kgs are used in a manifold. This installation is designed based on IS 6044 Part 1 and SMPV rules.
HIPPO / Mini Bulk installations
To meet the LPG needs of industrial and large commercial customers with high consumption, BharatGas has introduced "HIPPO" cylinders, containing 422 Kg of LPG. Bulk LPG installations are capital intensive, require significant space, and need PESO approval. In contrast, BharatGas Hippo cylinders require 80% less space and can achieve a flow rate of up to 2,000 kg/hour without the need for a license or PESO approval. These installations adhere to IS: 6044 Part II and OISD 162 standards. They require fewer changeovers compared to 19 Kg and 47.5 kg cylinders, making them easier to manage. Hippo LPG installations have fewer hose joints, enhancing safety, and allow for complete withdrawal of liquid and vapor, reducing the residual gas effect. The cylinders are equipped with a valve for both liquid and vapor withdrawal, facilitating consumption scaling with minimal installation changes. Hippo cylinders feature a magnetic level gauge for monitoring LPG levels and planning changeovers. For added safety, they include an inbuilt excess flow check valve and a QRC (Quick Release Coupling) during changeovers.

FUEL Conversion
Advantage of LPG over other Fuels
LPG is a clean, low-carbon, and efficient energy source, benefiting consumers, industry, and the environment with lower greenhouse gas emissions than petrol, diesel, and electricity.
Its simpler combustion systems require less maintenance and fewer shutdowns, reducing costs.
LPG is cost-effective, converting more energy into heat and being up to five times more efficient than traditional fuels.
It allows for easy temperature control, ensuring superior product quality.
Additionally, LPG is widely accessible without major infrastructure investment, provides instant heat, and minimizes burning losses in melting and heating processes.
The calorific value of a fuel plays a vital role in selecting the right fuel for the industry. Here is a quick comparison of the calorific value of LPG with other fuels which makes LPG a clear winner among them. Higher the calorific value, lesser the time to heat and least the cost spent on the fuel. LPG is the clear winner among the fuels being used today.

Safety Tips
DO's
Always keep the cylinder in upright position with valve on top.
Always install the cylinder at ground level, keeping the LPG appliance at a higher level.
Retain safety cap with nylon thread attached to the cylinder.
Fix the cap on the valve when cylinder is not in use or to stop leak, if any.
Ensure that there is adequate ventilation at floor level and at top level.
Keep the area clean. Restrict entry to authorized persons only.
Shout and raise alarm/siren in case of unsafe conditions.
In case of leakage, stop all operations, close all isolation valves.
In case of valve leakage from cylinder, put the safety cap and take the cylinder to an open space.
Use D.C.P- type fire extinguishers in case of fire and/or call Fire Service.
Call Fire Service, LPG Emergency Number, if leakage is not controlled.
